I do use the nub, I just like the touchpad buttons too I've removed and reseated the cables for both palmrests and their connection to the motherboard, no effect. It would be nice if there was chat or 4t2 email offered as support.

I can push on the lid and get no ripples. When I installed Windows I was having an issue with the wireless driver. Where as in my wife's Ibm T42 Touchpad tab also there. I am having difficulty in activating touchpad.

I have also heard those issues have been solved with the newer T43s. It is fast CPU. The case is made of magnesium and titanium with metal hinges for the screen. Overall the T42 is a great notebook. Every now and again I wish I had this key. It is the best notebook hard drive in my opinion. Last week the left mouse button below the touchpad stopped working.

It illuminates the keyboard in dimly lit environments. The keyboard does not have many extra buttons, only volume controls, thinkpadd and the Access IBM button.
